Happy New Year!

Wishing all peace, strength, love and contentment as we reflect on the last year and welcome the next. The past year has been a tough one with the personal challenge of the end of my 14 year marriage. I'm feeling uncomfortable and sad, but I'm also optimistic, rebuilding‬ and I'm ready to do this‬...

Original Serenity Prayer as written by Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.

Colorado Gives Day & The Blue Bench

A reminder that tomorrow is Colorado Gives Day – a statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. Do you know what organization(s) you will help today?

My favorite is The Blue Bench, a 30+ year Denver organization that strives to eradicate sexual assault and violence through support, care, issue advocacy, and prevention services.

Success Won't Come If You're Deathly Afraid Of It: 6 Deep-Seated Fears You Need To Address

A little gem from this article by Kathy Caprino: "Every single person on this planet is worthy of success. It wasn’t handed out in small doses to a few select individuals when we were born. You can have the success you want, but not until you understand that it’s your actions, mindset and your commitment that need revision, not the world outside yourself."

Real Estate Industry Loses a Great Asset

The real estate community has been devastated by the sudden and tragic passing of Oliver Frascona. The press has released the names of the other passengers who perished in the plane crash on August 31, 2014: Tori Rains-Wedan, and her three children; Mason Wedan, and his twin brothers, Austin and Hunter. Their loss of life deeply saddens me. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of all of them.

I would seek Oliver's RE classes. I talked to him about important RE issues, watched him stroke his stache sides on many occasions and employed his firm for legal advice, deep breath...he's left this world we know.

A celebration of Oliver Frascona's Life will be Sunday, Oct. 26, 2 - 5 PM at Omni Interlocken Hotel, 500 Interlocken Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80021. For updates, please visit his law firm's website.

The grand opening for Denver Union Station was exciting last weekend. The renovation of the area has been a labor of love for so many people and it's wonderful to have a new lovely boutique hotel, restaurants, meeting places, ice cream, boutiques and character-rich architecture centered around our transportation hub. If you have not checked it out yet, you must!

Denver International Airport and Farmers Work Together

Did you know that the Denver International Airport (DIA) leases some of their 53 square miles of land for agricultural uses? The farmers grow corn, sunflowers, millet, wheat and more. These operations provide jobs and income for farmers, and help generate non-airline revenue for the airport. DIA CFO, Patrick Heck, grew up in farm country and recently got back to his roots and worked on one of their fields!
