The Rose Andom Center

Located at 1330 Fox Street in Denver, The Rose Andom Center will provide a one-stop center for helping victims of rape and domestic violence. The Center is named in honor of successful Denver entrepreneur and McDonalds franchise owner, Rose A. Andom, and her lead gift of $1 million. Over $1,100,000 has been raised in addition to this initial gift. OZ Architecture is finalizing plans for the complete renovation of the current building on Fox Street with opening scheduled by the fall of 2014.

A few of the building’s features and advantages:
• Proximity to courts, jail, mass transit
• 23,000 square feet with space for expansion
• Secured entry on ground floor for victim safety
• Ability to separate agencies and services on one floor
• Space for amenities identified in focus groups: large communal kitchen, job resource room
• Accommodates shared spaces: intake & interview rooms, play therapy and conference rooms
• Adaptable for energy efficient improvements

The list of Partners is growing:
Participating Public and Private Agencies, Colorado Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center, Colorado Legal Services, Denver Child Advocacy Center, Denver City Attorney’s Office, Denver Community Corrections: Electronic Monitoring, Denver County Court Probation, Denver Department of Human Services, Denver District Attorney’s Office, Denver Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, Denver Indian Health & Family Services, Denver Police Department, Denver Police – Victim Services Unit, Domestic Violence Initiatives for Women with Disabilities, DOVE, Dumb Friend’s League, Healing From the Heart, Justice and Mercy Legal Clinic, Latina SafeHouse Initiative, Project PAVE, Project Safeguard, Rape Assistance & Awareness, SafeHouse Denver, Servicios de la Raza, Work Options for Women, Victim Services Network

The Rose A. Andom Center (The Center) will create a “wrap-around” service delivery model to provide victims with one central location for coordinated services involving 25 distinct agencies, including resource providers from both community-based organizations and the criminal justice system.

The Center will focus on the needs of domestic violence victims including safety, confidentiality, counseling, children’s services, legal assistance, shelter and job referrals, and medical care.

Services will be available to all victims, regardless of their willingness to involve the police. As a public-private collaboration, The Center will serve more than 3,000 victims per year in a warm, welcoming facility that empowers victims to make the best decisions for their families.
