The Most Amazing Adventure

If you have ever been scuba diving, then you know that it is one of the most incredible experiences in the world. The ocean is so vast and for me it was like being on another planet. We just returned from 7 wonderful days in Cozumel and it was my first time scuba diving in the ocean. The reefs we dove include Paradise Reef, Paso El Cedral, Santa Rosa Reef or "The Wall", Yucab Reef, and Palancar Caves. Our night dive was to Paradise Reef. Our dive masters from Dive Paradise were awesome and made the experience great.

I felt like an astronaut because of the way I was floating. Our very first dive was along Santa Rosa Reef or "The Wall" and it was like a cliff under water. We went about 80 ft and when I looked up, the only thing I could see was the side of a cliff and blue. I was floating along side and moving at a pretty good pace with the current.

Kirstan Diving

Here's the proof. I actually cannot believe that I did it. I was terribly scared for our first dive. Our dive master held my hand as we went down the first time on the first day. Over the course of our vacation, I went 6 more times (no hand holding) and even went night diving. I cannot believe that we are able to breathe under water and stay down there for 20 - 30 minutes, or more, at a time.

Sea Turtle

I saw this sea turtle on the second day. He (the ocean gods will be upset if he was actually a she) was laying on a grave stone. He swam away quickly once we discovered him. I've wondered ever since then what is the story behind that grave stone...wish I knew.

Chris and Jeff

This is Chris and Jeff as we are getting ready for our night dive. I was scared again for this dive even though I had already become comfortable with day time diving. I wasn't the only one. There was only 6 of us in the group and there was another woman who freaked out a few times under water. She was above my head and kicked me once or twice. Once I figured out who it was, I steered clear of her. Chris ran out of air on this dive. It was a little scary, but all turned out to be okay. After all, we got to see an octopus and a colorful, baby eel. Check 'em out below...

Colorful Eel

Each dive was so awesome and an experience that changed my life.
