Borne Again and Celebrating

My friends and family know about my recent divorce, now the world shall know as well. I have been officially Borne Again, and that's not just a play on words. Same great service and professionalism, just a new name - Kirstan Borne.

I'm truly grateful for the support, encouragement, patience and love given to me from my friends, family, clients and colleagues. It's not been an easy transition after 14 years of marriage and a 21+ year relationship, but I suppose there is a time and season for everything. Cheers to new beginnings and adventures!

Tough News for the Pocket Book

The Denver Post printed an article yesterday that compared Denver to a city famous for outlandish home prices and cost of living. "Denver matches San Francisco for highest inflation rate in 2014...What Denver shared with San Francisco was a shortage of housing that drove up rents and home prices. Houston and Denver, to a lesser degree, benefited from the domestic oil boom last year." According to article author, Aldo Svaldo.

How does this translate in lay terms? Invest in Denver now, but then compete with dozens of others trying to do the same thing at the same time. Denver is in high demand. The metro area has grown by 10,000+ people over the past year.

"Denver-Boulder-Greeley area rents showed a 5.9 percent increase in the second half of the year, while a comparable measure for homeowner costs rose 5.1 percent." Ugh! Read the entire article for more info...
